GOOD READERS

Vladimir Nabokov believed that in order to be a good reader one should be able to pay close attention to details. Each new story we start to read is like a new work of art; so we should be able to look at and study all the details we possibly can. Nabokov also believed that in order to be a  good reader one should have an imagination, memory, a dictionary, and should also have some artistic sense. Nabokov also mentions that a good reader is a rereader.

I must agree with Nabokov. Details are important to me when I read a book or a story. If there isn't a lot of details I tend to lose interest in what I'm reading. I also agree that in order to be a good reader one must have imagination, memory, a dictionary , and some artistic sense. With out these characteristics I think  it would be difficult to focus and understand what it is your reading. And as for being a rereader, I also agree with Nabokov in this. some of my favorite books have been books that I have read many, many times, and each time I reread them I discover something new in them. Although, I don't have a lot of spare to read for enjoyment, when I do I enjoy it very much. So yes I do consider myself to be a good reader.

Here is one novel that I have enjoyed reading and rereading!
