SUMMARY VS ANALYSIS

Summary means to retell a story. This could be a book, a poem, any type of text, and even including movies.You are retelling a story in your own words but not your own ideas. In my opinion there is no sense of creativity in summarizing a story. You are just informing someone of what happened or what the story is about. To do an analysis is to pick it apart. You are stating what the story means to you and in your own words. Not everybody will agree, but that is what makes it creative. Different stories mean different things to different people. When you analyze something you usually play close attention to details as well.
